On Sunday, March 13th, I played at my seventh wedding in 12 days. I was at the Hilton Hotel, 17th Street Causeway, for Marie and Gerry Messina. It was a picture perfect day for an outdoor wedding ceremony, performed by Charles from "Weddings by the Sea". The 50 guests were dressed in their best tropical outfits as this wedding took a more casual approach. Marie walked to "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and when they sealed their vows with a kiss I played "Beyond the Sea" by Bobby Darin. Marie and Gerry danced to "Glitter" by Pink for their first dance and Marie danced with her father Gilberto, to "Mi Nina Bonita" by Lucho Barrios, and Gerry danced with his mother Joyce, to "Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel. After dinner I played a mix of Salsa & Merengue, The Hits of the 60's, 70's, 80's, and a few Top 40 hits of today. Marie and Gerry cut their cake to "I Wanna Grow Old With You" by Adam Sandler. The final song was "I Had the Time of My Life" (Dirty-Bit), by The Black Eyed Peas. Thank you marie and Gerry for making me a part of your special night....DJ/MC Eddie
