On Saturday evening, I played for my second wedding of the day for Katie and Chris Thompson at the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club. The evening started with a cocktail reception out on the patio over looking all the yachts. The music was a mix of easy listening tunes. Then the real party began as I introduced the bridal party into the ballroom with 100 guests cheering and clapping as each couple entered the room. Katie & Chris danced a choreographed routine to "The Best Is Yet To Come" by Frank Sinatra, and it brought everyone to their feet! During the toasts, Tony (one of 2 best men) presented Chris with a special momento from the marines. This was a very emotional moment and a big surprise for Chris. Katie danced with her father to "I Loved Her First" by Heartland and Chris & his aunt danced to "Sunshine of My Life" by Stevie Wonder. Then the guests enjoyed a "surf & turf" dinner and a chocolate fountain, (thanks Katie & Chris for including the vendors)....Hmmmmm Good! I enjoyed playing for this audience because they were there to have a good time and support Katie and Chris. I played everything from Dion , The Beatles, Earth, Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, and favorites like "Shout", Cupid Shuffle and Cha Cha Slide. The energy was amazing as every age group enjoyed the mix of music on the dance floor. We ended the night with Black Eyed Peas "I had the Time of My Life (Dirty Bit)....Congrats to Katie & Chris....DJ/MC Eddie B!
