On Friday March 25th, 2011 I had the pleasure of playing for Kelly and Richard Strauch from New Jersey. The evening started with a ceremony on the beach performed by owner/operator Paul Bates. Since the bride & groom were Scotish, a bagpiper played the processional and recessional music. A tropical cocktail hour was next on the agenda and then a delicious buffet prepared & served by the award winning staff, included a roasted pig, steamship round, & mahi mahi, with all the trimmings. What a Feast!!!! After dinner Kelly and Richard danced to "One Fine Day" by Natalie Merchant and Kelly danced with her mother Marie to "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion, and with her stepfather to, "Unforgettable" by Natalie & Nat King Cole. Richard danced with his mother Carol to "Song For Mama" by Boyz II Men. I then played a mix of sing along classics including "Build Me Up Butter Cup", "The Way You Do The Things You Do", "Run Around Sue", and "Right back Where We Started From", to get the dance floor in full swing. Then some classic rock from "The Boss"-Bruce Springstein, AC/DC, Kid Rock, and The Eagles mixed with some Country, Top 40 Hits, & 80's music kept 60 family members and friends dancing and singing the rest of the night. The final song was "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. Kelly & and Richard were just 2 happy people and thanked me over & over for making their special day in the Keys a memorable one! Thanx DJ/MC Eddie B!
