Wedding Reception Aboard the Catalina Yacht

Ashley and John Merrill celebrated their wedding aboard the Catalina Yacht out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 7/4/2020.  As the 70 guests boarded the Catalina they were all directed to the top deck for the ceremony.  The ceremony and the cocktail hour are always held on the top deck and as everyone enjoyed drinks and appetizers I played a mix of tropical tunes.  Ashley and John chose to have a grand entrance to the song Forever by Chris Brown then they went right into their first dance which was Something Just Like This by Coldplay.  There were no parents dances and as all of the guests found their seats Ashley asked me to give the toast.  This was the second time in my DJ career that I have been asked to give the toast. LOL.  After a buffet style dinner I got the dance floor going with a mix of top 40, 90s and 2000s hip-hop, r&B and classic rock.  Great mix of genres for this very fun/upbeat group of guests.  There was no garter/bouquet toss but the happy couple did take the time to cut their wedding cake.  As the Catalina approached the dock I played Closing Time by Semisonic and that put a bow on a great 4th of July wedding.  Congrats to Ashley, John and the entire Merrill family.
