Ciani and Steven’s wedding reception was held aboard the Catalina Yacht Charter in Ft. Lauderdale on July 1st. Many of their family members flew in from all over the country to watch the two get married at the Gallery One Hotel just before boarding for the reception. They were blessed with some perfect Florida Summer weather. I started things off with a mix of Latin favorites mixed with modern Pop Hits for the cocktail hour, while guests were boarding. At the couples request, the room was illuminated with beautiful LED amber up lighting to match the bridesmaid dresses and centerpieces. After some pictures it was time to introduce the bridal party and the newlyweds. The group chose Despacito by Justin Bieber and Luis Fonsi as their introductory song. I pumped everyone up and the cheering continued as I introduced the newlyweds to Shape of You by Ed Sheeran. I invited them to the middle of the floor for their first dance to Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur. Shortly after the first dance, I asked Ciani’s father, Eddie to join Ciani on the dance floor as they danced to Can you Feel the Love Tonight by Heather Headley, followed by the Mother and Son dance to The Perfect Fan by the Backstreet Boys. We took a little break for dinner around 8:30 as I played some salsa and cumbia, before continuing the fun. Around 10:00pm I asked the guests where all the single ladies were before inviting them to the dance floor for the Bouquet toss. I played Single Ladies by Beyonce before Ciani tossed the bouquet high in the air for the ladies to catch. Shortly following the bouquet toss, Steven got down on his knees while his wife occupied a chair in the center of the dance floor. I played Let’s Get it On by Marvin Gaye while Steven went under to retrieve his garter. After that it was time for the single guys to catch the garter while I played Who Let the Dogs Out by the Baha Men. The reception continued after that and the guests danced the whole night. Congratulations to Ciani and Steven. I had a blast with you guys. - DJ ELOW
