Wedding Reception at a Private Residence

I had the honor of DJing the wedding of Rebecca and Michael Rahrig on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at a beautiful private home on the water in Jupiter. The ceremony happened in the front with about 80 guests in attendance. The weather was perfect. I played music from United Guitar Players as the guests took their seats. The wedding was almost derailed when a large adorable green lizard tried to join attendees in their seats. Nobody would claim him as a guest so he was let go in the bushes. The bridal party walked down the path to Golden Hour by Riyandi Kusuma followed by Rebecca and her father to Turning Page by Sleeping at Last. After a beautiful ceremony Rebecca and Michael were pronounced husband and wife and I played This Will Be by Natalie Cole as the bridal party and guests exited.

Next the party moved to the back yard where tents and tables were set up next to the water. I played music from the Beach Boys, Bob Marley, Bruno Mars and Ray Lamontagne. After taking pictures along the water I introduced the groomsmen to Walk this Way by Aerosmith and the bridesmaids to Baby One More Time by Britney Spears as they performed a special dance for the occasion. Next I introduced for the first time Mr and Mrs Rahrig and played Marry You by Bruno Mars. Next the couple had their first dance to Before You by Benson Boone. Next Rebecca danced with her father to Cinderella by Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael danced with his mom to The First Lady in my Life by Paul Todd. Next a prayer was given and toasts from the best man, maid of honor and father of the bride. During dinner I played Sweet Caroline as everyone sang along as well as songs like My Girl and Meant to Be by Florida Georgia Line.

After a delicious dinner provided by Chef Marlese of Flavor and Taste the dancing began. The mood was set with Eddie B uplights and dancefloor lights. I mixed Abba - Gimme Gimme Gimme with Madonna's Hung Up, Staying Alive mashup with 50 Cent in Da Club. We did the Conga, Cotton Eye Joe and the Cha Cha Slide. I played It's Raining Men, the YMCA, and September by Earth Wind and Fire. I slowed it down twice with Unchained Melody and Wonderful Tonight so the guests could dance with their sweethearts. Rebecca and Michael cut the cake to Sugar Sugar by the Archies which the more senior guests very much enjoyed dancing to. I played Party in the USA, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and We Are Family. Rebecca tossed her bouquet to Beyonce - Single Ladies. We ended the night with Journey - Don't Stop Believing after which the guests went around to the front to prepare for a sparkler sendoff while Rebecca and Michael had their last dance to Leon Bridges - Beyond.
