Saturday evening June 17th at the Abacoa Country Club in Jupiter is where the reception was held for Mary and Erik Armstrong with DJ Marc Evans. As guests arrived from church for cocktail hour the music selection was very mellow as most of the guests were older and light cocktail hour tunes was fitting so everyone could enjoy conversation, as well having drinks and food.
As cocktails ended, I lined up the parents, grandparents, bridal party and Mary and Erik for the entrance into the main room. Can't Stop the Feeling by JT for the family and bridal party and then Marry You by Bruno Mars for Erik and Mary. They then joined together on the dance floor for the first dance to Tenerife by Ed Sheehan. I invited all guests to join them followed by the mother/son and the father/daughter dances which were to Little Miss Magic and I'll Be There.
During dinner I started to follow the very extensive list of music provided as the food stations were open and background music was played.
Once dinner concluded, Mary and Erik did a toast to Mary's deceased Grandfather and then the party began with line dances that Mary asked for me to play and teach from The Wobble, Cotton Eye Joe, The Cupid Shuffle, The Electric Slide and yes the Bunny Hop for grandpa.
The cake was cut to Smile by Uncle Cracker followed by the garter bouquet to It's Gotta Be You by The Backstreet boys and Single Ladies by Beyonce....
The party concluded with me gathering everyone on the dance floor for Friends in Low Places as they sang to Mary and Erik and then the sparkler send off as they left to the song I Gotta Feeling to line up for the send off. Prior to Mary and Erik leaving for the send off they thanked me for keeping the party going and making a very special day. DJ/MC Marc Evans
