Wedding Reception at Benvenutos

Colin and Maria Dixon were married on October 22, 2022 at Benvenuto Restaurant in Boynton Beach. I had the distinct honor of being their DJ and Emcee. The weather was lovely on this Florida October evening. The guests entered the outdoor courtyard where the couple was holding their ceremony to classics from Vivaldi and Mozart. Once everyone was seated I played the Daniel Jang violin version of the Elvis Classic "Can't Help Falling in Love" and the lovely Bride walked down the aisle. After a beautiful ceremony the couple said their vows and I had Billy Idol's "White Wedding" cued right up to the best part! Colin is from England and plays on a soccer team and says this is their theme song! Colin and Maria are now Husband and Wife! As the guests had cocktails and hors d'oeuvres I continued to play fun music like Stevie Wonder - Signed, Sealed, Delivered, Bruno Mars - Marry You, Chapel of Love and Your Love is Lifting Me Higher! The guests were enjoying the evening and were a wonderful group. Then we went into the Banquet Room and with Pitbull playing in the back I introduced for the First Time Mr. and Mrs. Colin Dixon!!! The couple had their First Dance as Husband and Wife to Ed Sheeran's "Perfect". Dinner was lovely and Colin made a fantastic speech where he literally thanked everybody including the restaurant staff and me. Colin is a true class act. After dinner the dancing started and here was some of my playlist. PItbull's Fireball got the Conga Line going which I blended into Gloria Estefan's "Conga". The Black and Crown Mix of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" and the Kygo Mix of Donna Summer's "Hot Stuff" are both staples at weddings I play. They preserve the original song while giving a stronger and more modern beat and tempo. Most importantly they get the dance floor packed!! We did the Cupid Shuffle and of course I threw on Beyonce's new "Break My Soul" which is a dance floor packer. I took some requests for Country and played Blake Shelton's version of "Footloose" which is a very hot track for weddings. Later on I threw on some classics by request from Ricky Martin, Spice Girls and Survivor's Eye of the Tiger. My goal at every wedding is to keep the atmosphere FUN and the guests DANCING. Maria and Colin cut the cake to The Archie's Classic "Sugar Sugar". The cake was beautiful with dark red rose on it as the colors for the wedding were Red and White which worked very well. I got all the single ladies up for the bouquet toss to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". The lady who caught the bouquet gave it to one of the flower girls! It was very nice. The night ended with Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes - "I Had the Time of My LIfe" from the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. Colin and Maria are class acts and it was an honor to be part of their special day!
