Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the WEDDING BLOG.
On Saturday I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Grant and Rachael. They had their reception and party at the Boca Dunes Golf Club. This is a very nice club and the staff are always welcoming!
Cocktails were served in the lobby. I played some Rat Pack tunes per Grant's request. we are talking Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Michael Buble' and the like.
After that, I invited all of the guests to the main room. It was decorated beautifully,
The introductions went flawlessly. I played "Celebration " by Kool and The Gang for the bridal party and then I used "The Final Countdown" by Europe for the entrance of Grant and Rachael. The crowd erupted with applause! Next I invited Grant and Rachael to dance the first dance. "Unchained Melody" by The Righteous Brothers was requested. I then played the father daughter dance. "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw was used. Then Grant danced with his mom. They chose" "A Song For Mama" by Boyz II Men. I then asked all of the guests to find their seats. I invited Sara and Gregg, the maid of honor and best man to do their toasts and dedications. I then invited Dan to do the blessing of dinner.
Now dinner was served. I played some old school tunes, light rock and vocals. It went over great! During dinner, I was asked to open the mic for any of the guests to come up and say a few words. There were a lot of takers! A lot of well wished for both Grant AND Rachael. We also heard from Joe, the father of the groom and Jeff, the father of the bride. Very touching. After dinner we really got the party started! This was truly a dancing crowd and the dance floor was packed all evening. I was able to play all different styles and genres of music. It was a really well rounded crowd.Grant and Rachael are old souls and really enjoyed the "Old School" feel. The cake was cut using "Funiculi Funicula" by Pavoratti as background music. Grant and Rachael had a great time slamming each other with cake!
Shortly after that I picked up the pace again and got the party going! A great time for them and a great experience for me!
