Wedding Reception at Cooper Estates

DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the wedding blog.
On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Ryan and Jill
They were married at the Cooper Estate in Homestead. This location is awesome! The facility is an old farm house that was converted to a first class, elegant facility. The grounds are a photographers paradise!
As the guests arrived for the reception, I kept it very classy, playing some light Brazilian Jazz and down-tempo house music.
Once the guests were settled in, I invited the bridal party to enter. First, the parents, and then the Maid of Honor Julianne escorted by the Best Man Ricky.
After that I invited Ryan and Jill to enter the ballroom! They arrived with a special request song playing...."The Sound" by The 1975.
I immediately went into their first dance, "Coming Home" by Leon Bridges. Then all of the guests joined them.
I asked everyone to find their seats and then I invited the Maid of Honor, Julianne and Best Man, Ricky to speak. Very nice speeches.... Then Kathy, the mother of the bride welcomed everyone and said some touching words about the bride and groom.
Shortly after that, the first course was served. During dinner, I played a lot of the brides' requested dinner songs. The really like Amy Winehouse, Alabama Shakes, Rebulation and John Legend.
After dinner, I played the parent dances. "Come and Get your Love" by Redbone and "You'll be in my heart" by Phil Collins.
Now we get the party started!
Ryan and Jill are both "old souls" and really enjoyed classic music. So I played a lot of 60's 70's 80' and 90's. I even played a couple of Latin songs for good measure. Of course, as the evening progressed I was able to transition to hip hop, booty and top 40..
I soon asked everyone to grab their cameras as I was about to have Ryan and Jill cut the cake. Hall & Oates "You make my dreams come true" was requested to be played. Ryan is a HUGE H and O fan and I sprinkled a few of their songs throughout the night.
After the cake was cut, I invited everyone back to the dance floor and we continued to dance the night away.
This was a great party with great people and everyone had a wonderful time!!
