On Saturday, September 28th I was in Deerfield at Deer Creek Golf and Country Club for the wedding ceremony and reception of Kyle and Gabriella. The ceremony took place shortly after 5:00pm just outside the main ballroom, with a beautiful waterfall in the background. The groom along with his groomsmen and the bridal party walked to Love Never Felt So Good by Michael Jackson, followed by the bride who walked down the aisle to I Get To Love You by Ruelle. Once the two were pronounced husband and wife, the new Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter celebrated together while singing ’Til You Can’t by Cody Johnson. The reception room was surrounded by windows and brought to life by champagne LED up lighting and a gobo monogram with the couple’s names, provided by Eddie B & Company. When it was time for the grand entrance, I invited everyone to stand with their phone flashlights on as we welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter to All of the Lights by Kanye West. As Kyle and Gabriella got closer to the dance floor I set off two cold spark machines shooting sparks 10ft high for all to see. The couple then embraced each other for their first dance to From the Ground Up by Dan and Shay while a low-lying cumulus cloud covered their feet - They really looked like they were dancing atop a cloud. Gabriella then danced with her father to Half the Man by Jennifer Hart before Kyle danced with his aunt Kim, in memory of his late mother, who was there in spirit to You’ll Be In My Heart by Brent Morgan. The First dance and parents dances were also accompanied by cold sparks and the cloud machine to make them extra special. During dinner, I played some bossanova and love songs while the guests enjoyed their meal. At 9:45 we did a sparkler sendoff before bringing the guests in for a high-energy last hour. I handed out some glowing foam sticks and the rest of the night was a party with a fusion of samba, country, hip hop, and dance party favorites for all the guests to enjoy. Once the guests were on the floor they did not want to leave. At the couple’s request, the last song to close out the night on a calm note was Got what I got by Jason Aldean. Thank you Kyle and Gaby for allowing me to be a part of your special day. You were an awesome crowd and it was an absolute pleasure partying with you and your family. Best of luck to you - DJ ELOW
