Wedding Reception at Hawks Cay

Hello everybody,Dj Jerry O here with another blog about a fabulous wedding for Jake & Ke on May 31st in Hawks Cay, Duck Key. The ceremony was held on the lawn overlooking the bay. The bridal party walked to Canon in D, Ke walked to Elvis Presley, Can't Help Falling In Love. It was a quaint short ceremony with a calm breeze coming off the bay. After Ke & Jake were pronounced husband and wife, the recessional song was Lost Kitten by Matric.

All the guests made their way over to cocktail hour for which I played a mixture of Samba, Bossa Nova covers, some Rock ballads, and John Tesh piano music. I introduced the bridal party to This Girl Is On Fire by Alicia Keys and Ke and Jake joined in. Everybody's attention was directed towards the dance floor for their first dance, Perfect by Ed Sheeran. The father-daughter dance, which Ke selected was a special song for her dad, it was sung in Chinese so I am not even going to try to pronounce it. Jake escorted his mother to the dance floor and danced to Aerosmith, Dream On. The guests were seated and dinner was served buffet style. The toasts were given by Sam the best man and Kelly the maid of honor and Ke’s dad got up and said a few words to his daughter but he only spoke in Chinese so it had to be translated by her sister. Jake's mother Deb, got up to say a few words also. Everybody enjoyed their meal and I slowly transitioned to dance music. I played a mixture of Hip-Hop, R&B, Rock, Metal and Dance music with a few  line dances, YMCA and the Cha Cha Slide. The cake cutting cceremony was next and the song  they chose was Chemical Bond by Rez and Death Pack. From there we went right into the bouquet toss, the song Ke chose was Lydias Highly Suspect, and the garder removal was to Love Song by 311. Dancing continued, the closing song was by Korn, Undone, then everybody proceeded to go directly to the pool and enjoyed the rest of the night cooling off.
