Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the "Wedding Blog". Today's adventure brings us to the Jacaranda Country Club in Plantation. A staple in the wedding industry for years and years.
As the guests arrived, they were escorted to the bar area to enjoy libations and snacks.
After the cocktail hour, I opened the main dining room. I invited all of the guests in and then proceeded to line up the bridal party for the grand entrance. I played "Next Episode" by Dr. Dre for this. It was fun to see them strut in.....
I then proceeded to introduce Evan and Cynthia. The place erupted with applause and everyone rose from their seats!
The first dance followed...."Come Rain or Shine" by Ray Charles. I then played the father daughter dance "De Nina a Mujer" by Julio Iglesias. Then Evan danced with his mom..."Stand By Me" by Ben E. King was used. I then invited all of the guests to dance and I played "Fireball" by Pitbull. Everyone danced!!. A sign of what was to come.....
After that I invited all of the guests to find their seats and then I invited Travis the Best Man and Heather the Maid of Honor to say a few words. It went off without a hitch. Dinner service was started soon after that. I played some light vocal and slow jams.
After dinner, I invited the guests up for a slow tune and then we hit the ground running!
Since this was a Latin crowd, I played a lot of Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Bachata.
Evan's family was not Latin, so I played music for them as well. Hip Hop, Top 40 and even some classic rock.
I then asked everyone to find their seats and we cut the cake. After that I did the garter/bouquet toss. The couple who caught them danced a slow song with Evan and Cynthia. I then invited everyone to dance and we were off again!
The dance floor was packed for the rest of the night. I played a lot of old school hip Hop and the like. I even had the pleasure of seeing Evan get up and do a freestyle rap.. Off the cuff and right on time!
It truly was a great evening. Congrats to our bride and groom.
