Sunset vows and sea-breezed beats — a Key West Valentine to remember
On February 14, 2026, beneath the shadow of the historic Key West Lighthouse, Damon and Ally said “I do” to a soundtrack that felt made for them. I had the honor of serving as DJ and MC, and I also provided the ceremony music — blending intimate moments with island rhythm from start to finish.
The bridal party’s procession arrived to Jack Johnson’s “Better Together,” setting a warm, familiar groove that turned the walk into something effortless and sweet. When Ally made her entrance, the air softened even more with a piano instrumental version of “Once Upon a Dream,” every note framing her steps like a scene from a film. After the vows, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle to the joyful tones of “Turnover,” followed by “Dizzy on the Come Down” as we moved into cocktail hour.
Cocktail hour was pure Key West: I mixed jazz bossa nova, island-influenced selections, soft rock, and personal picks from Damon and Ally — a laid-back, sunlit soundtrack that had guests nodding, smiling, and tapping toes. When it was time to bring everyone back in, applause swelled as I introduced the newly married couple. They entered to thunderous cheers and stepped straight into their first dance to “Real Love” by Father John Misty — a gorgeous, intimate start that turned electric when I invited everyone to join halfway through. The dance floor filled in seconds.
We then honored family: Ally danced with her father to Bob Carlisle’s “Butterfly Kisses,” a tender, tear-warm moment, and Damon escorted his mother for “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd — soulful and sincere. A few upbeat, danceable songs later, guests were seated for dinner.
The speeches were heartfelt and genuine. Best man Dylan spoke off the cuff — raw, personal, and full of warmth — then Maid of Honor Rebecca delivered a moving tribute to Ally, praising her hard work and declaring she hoped to be just like her. Dinner concluded, and the party resumed under the lighthouse: bouquet tosses (Ally climbed the lighthouse steps to launch hers — a first for me!), late-night dancing, and laughter echoing into the Key West night.
As DJ, MC, and fellow celebrant, I loved every minute. Damon and Ally — thank you for letting me help soundtrack your day. Wishing you a lifetime of love, music, and moonlit dances.
