Wedding Reception at Lakeside Terrace

Doug and Romy were married in 2020, but due to Covid they could not have the big reception they wanted. On Saturday, February 18, 2023 they finally had that reception and I was honored to be their DJ. The event was at Lakeside Terrace and included over 100 guests. We started with Cocktail Hour on the patio overlooking the water. I played music from Frank Sinatra, Alicia Keys, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga. Doug is from Connecticut and Romy is from Peru which made for a great mix of music. After cocktail hour all the guests came inside and it was time for introductions. Doug walked in with their children Johan and Natalie and Romy entered with her brother Juan Carlos. Their escorts then walked them to the center of the dancefloor where the husband and wife met and danced to Europa by Nils. After that Romy danced with her brother Juan Carlos to Edelweiss. For the third dance Doug and Romy joined their children to dance to Daniel Boaventura's version of "Can't Take My Eyes off of You".

During dinner I played songs like "Strangers in the Night" by Frank Sinatra, "The Way You Look Tonight" by Tony Bennett and "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. After dinner the guests were ready to hit the dance floor to songs like "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge, "Conga" by Gloria Estefan, "Fireball" by Pitbull and Mambo #5. The conga line was going and everyone was having a great time. We did the Macarena and the Cupid Shuffle. Later on I played "Party" and "Efecto" by Bad Bunny, Danza Kuduro by Don Omar and Pepas by Farruko. Then the dancing continued to songs from Juan Luis Guererra and Marc Anthony. Doug and Romy cut the cake to Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and Romy threw her bouquet to Single Ladies by Beyonce. Her daughter Natalie caught the bouquet! The night ended with Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk and Kenny Loggins - Footloose. I think Doug and Romy got exactly the reception they had wanted and I was so happy to be part of it. I wish them both great joy and happiness.
