On May 28th,2011 I played for a Latin wedding reception for Carmelo & Florsire Mendoza at Royal Fiesta. As guests entered into the Fiesta for the cocktail hour,a mix of Latin lounge and soft rock was playing. Dave Mathews,Clapton,Aerosmith to Juan Luis Guerra and Marc Anthony played. The wedding party got introduced to "Hey Soul Sister" by Train, leading to the couples first dance to a classic "Cuando Estoy Contigo" by Alfredo Sadel. The parents dances took place next. The Father/Daughter song was "The Last Waltz" by Engelbert Humperdinck and the Mother/Son song was "Con Los Anos Que Me Quedan" by Gloria Estefan. Florsire's father Jose "Chucho" Monsalve gave a toast to the newlyweds. After a buffet dinner it was time to pump up the dance floor.Great classic salsa merengue and top 40 was the choice of music.Celia Cruz,El Grand Combo,Fulanito to Pitbull and J-Lo.The bride was from Venezuela and keeping in tradition with family in hand we had a dance called....."Hora Loca".....I pumped up the crowd to "Quirame La Mano" and "Leo Leo Le" by Tambor Urbano. Everyone had a mask on and just waved and danced like a carnival style party....FUN FUN FUN.....what a great time for all. Wishing the best to this happy couple and to Carmelo....serving many years in the Navy for our country,God Bless America.Thumbs up to Royal Fiesta and Wedding By The Sea for a perfect night..Thanxs Roberto (D.J.Rob)
