Wedding Reception at The Addison / Boca Raton

DJ Gregg with this weeks installment of the wedding blog. On Saturday, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Troy and Melissa. The reception was held at the beautiful Addison in Boca Raton. Old Florida Style at it's finest! As guests entered the ballroom, i played some cool South Beach sounds, to set a nice mood and let everyone know that a party is beginning. Once everyone was settled in, I invited the wedding party into the room. I started with the parents and then rest of the bridal party. I used "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce'. Then I asked Troy and Melissa into the room. "Old town Road" was requested. The room erupted with applause! Shortly afterwards, I played the first dance. "The rest of our life" by Tim McGraw was used. Then Melissa danced with her dad. They chose "Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw. Once that ended, I asked Troy to dance with his mom. "you'll be in my heart" by Phil Collins was used. It was very touching.

Soon after, I asked John, the Father of the Bride to give a toast and welcome everyone. Then dinner service started. During this time, I kept it fairly light. Playing some standards, old school slow songs and some wedding favorites (Sweet Caroline anyone?) Once dinner ended, I asked the couples to dance. Melissa and Troy requested that I start the dancing with "Tennessee Whiskey" by Chris Stapleton. Then I picked up the pace and really got the party started. I have to say that this was a great group of guests! Everyone was eager to dance and have a good time. The dance floor was busy all night. I had the liberty of playing a very large variety of music. I played Country, hip Hop, Old School 80's and 90's, new music and even some oldies and Latin! it was a diverse group. The bouquet was the only other item that we needed to cover. I played "move B***H by Ludacris as requested by the Bride and Groom. Then we picked up the pace and continued to dance the rest of the evening.

all in all, this was a great event and I really had a wonderful time with the guests!
