Wedding Reception At The Alexander Hotel

Renee and Daniel Molina celebrated their dream wedding at the Alexander Hotel on 1/26/2013.  The ceremony was held on the beach on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.  The music provided for the ceremony was from an outside vendor (violinist), Eddie B & Co was only hired for the cocktail hour and the reception.  During the cocktail hour Daniel and Renee along with the bridal party took pictures by the beach while all of the approximately 135 guests enjoyed drinks, appetizers and a mix of tropical tunes.  As the cocktail hour came to a close, everyone was invited into the main ballroom for the grand entrance and reception.  The ballroom was decorated with 20 lavender up-lights that were provided by Eddie B & Co along with dance floor light for a great effect.  I lined up the 16 member bridal party as all of the guests were filled with anticipation.  Renee chose Don't Stop The Party by Pitbull for the bridal party entrance and Everything Tonight by Pitbull and NeYo for her and Daniel.  The place went crazy as they walked into the ballroom!!!  Renee and Daniel went right into the first dance which was Overwhelmed by Tim McMorris.  Right after, Renee danced with her dad to Song For My Daughter by Ray Allaire and Daniel danced with his mom to The Man You've Become by Molly Pasutti.  The toasts were given by the maid of honor Jessica and the best man Tommy.  Renee's dad Bill also chimed in and gave a beautiful welcoming speech.  This wedding started off with a bang and everyone was still buzzing while the first course was being served.  Renee and Daniel did not provide me with a play list since they trust my judgment with the music selections.  But she did request that at some point in the evening I play White Wedding by Billy Idol.  The highlight of the evening was when towards the end of the main course a surprise visitor busted through the door.  It was no other that "Sebastian", the University of Miami Hurricane's mascot.  I played  Rock You Like A Hurricane, I'm In Miami Trick, Welcome to Miami, etc.  All of the up-beat Miami songs I could think of.  He was dancing and taking pictures with the guests for a solid hour.  We did also perform the anniversary dance, the cake cutting and the garter bouquet and the dancing continued to the end.  Talk about an action packed wedding!  Another request from Renee was the last song.  She chose Don't You Forget About Me by Simple Minds.  A great way to end a crazy evening. What a wedding!!
