Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding blog. On
Saturday, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Bobby and Chris. They
were married on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale, and the reception was
held at the Bahia Mar hotel.
As the guests arrived from the beach for refreshments, I was asked to
play some funky "South Beach" lounge music. This type of music always
sets a nice tone especially when you are overlooking a beautiful blue
ocean! The room also had aqua blue accents via the uplights provided
by Eddie B & Company.
The mingling occurred for about 1 hour. Then I invited everyone to
find their seats. I introduce Bobby and Chris to "Love Walks In" by Van Halen.
Then they danced their first dance. "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis.
It was very traditional. I then invited Bobby to the mic. He welcomed
everyone and toasted the guests and his new wife. Dinner was served
shortly thereafter. I played an eclectic mix of music, from standards,
to old school 80's. Perfect dinner music for this great crowd!
After dinner I invited the guests up for a slow song and then we got
the party rocking! As mentioned before, this was an eclectic mix of
friends and family, so variety was the recipe for success. I played
music from all genres and eras. However, it seemed that the 80's music
and Latin hits were the big favorites. The bride and groom cut the
cake and proceeded to do the bouquet toss. It went over very classy.
We continued to dance for the rest of the evening. Overall I would say that this party was a great success!
Congrats to the bride and groom, and as always, a great job from the
Bahia Mar.
