On Saturday February 22nd, 2014 I was at the Beach Gardens Hotel located south of Sunrise Blvd. and 2 blocks west of A1A in Ft. Lauderdale. I was pleasantly surprised how modern and cozy this "new gem" of smaller venues presented itself amongst the giant hotels on A1A. The cocktail reception took place in the front the building by the pool, for which I played an hour of adult contemporary tunes. Then the 150 guests were invited to the back area and this is where the reception took place! Emily from Event Bliss along with her staff had this place laid out for a CELEBRATION! The Black & White theme along with the lavender LED up lights which were provided by Eddie B & Company transformed this area to an art deco scene! I introduced the bridal party to "Seven Nation Army" and then our newly weds John and Nina Butrim to "Hot In Herre". The first dance was "Banana Pancakes" by Jack Johnson, it was choreographed with a few slick dance moves which had the guests applauding the entire time! After the toasts and welcome speeches dinner was served and I played from a song list provided by Nina & John. The father/daughter dance was to "Vals Para Una Novia" by Alejandro Jaren. The mother/son dance was to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. Later the cake was cut to "Pour Some Sugar On Me" by Def Leopard. The music was a mix of Top 40 dance, Salsa, Merengue, Bachata and some retro 80's tossed in! We ended the evening with "Sweet Caroline" as requested and then everyone headed to the pool! What happened after that I can't say, but I guarantee you a lot of people got wet!!!! Congrats and all the best to Nina & John Butrim.......DJ/MC Eddie B!
