Whats Up Bloggers!
DJ Gregg with this weeks installment of the Wedding Blog...
On Saturday, December 15th, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Oscar and Rachel. The wedding reception was held at the historic Bonnet House in Ft. Lauderdale.
If you have never been there, then you are missing out on a piece of Florida History. The facility is an old estate that is directly across from the Atlantic Ocean. There are lush grounds for picture taking and monkeys! Yes, monkeys live on the grounds. They are descendants from the original owners who had them as pets. Sometimes, they just sit and watch the people partying. It is very cool.
As the guests arrived from the church, I played some specific tunes requested by the bride and groom. Songs from Sade, Beatenberg, and Pastora just to name a few.
Now I opened the main dining area. It is a huge tent that is set up behind the museum. It faces the pond and is very elegant.
I played some cool electronica music as the guests walked in per the brides request. I kept it smooth until everyone was seated. I then invited the bridal party in with "Sugar" by Maroon 5. I also used this song toI invited Oscar and Rachel. The guests erupted with applause. Now the first dance. "Mi Benidicion" by Juan Luis Guerra was used. It is a great song. Then, I invited Rachel up to dance with her Father. "Butterfly Kisses" was the requested song. Then Oscar danced with his Mom. "Over The Rainbow" by Israel K. was used. I then proceeded to invite them to sit down for the first course. Once that was served, I invited the Grooms Brothers to do their toasts and dedications. It was nice to hear the funny stories and great things about the Bride and Groom.
I kept it light during dinner. I played some Sade, Pastora, Koop and even some Sinatra.
Dinner finished and t was time to party!
I then proceeded to invite the guests up to dance! These folks loved to dance Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton and even some disco. The dance floor was always busy!
We cut the cake to "Cut The Cake" by AWB.
The Bouquet was " Finally" by CeCe Peniston
After that we danced the rest of the night!
It was an awesome event under the stars.
