Wedding Reception at The Club of Knights

I had the pleasure of performing at Roxann and Zach's wedding at the Club of Knights in Coral Gables.

The beautiful ceremony took place outside in the enchanting patio garden. The bridal party made a grand entrance to the song "Wildest Dreams" by DUOMO, followed by Roxann gracefully walking down the aisle to the heartfelt melody of "Us" by James Bay. The officiant had created a stunning ceremony setup, and as Roxann and Zach exchanged vows that balanced humor and sincerity, they both struggled to contain their emotions. Finally, they declared their love and commitment to each other, and with joyful hearts, they were pronounced husband and wife. The recessional song, "Can't Help Falling in Love" played, filling the air with an atmosphere of romance.

Afterward, guests were invited to the cocktail hour, where our talented guitar player "Bo"  from Eddie B & Company provided delightful entertainment. A photo booth was set up, managed skillfully by our attendant Alberto. The black-and-white pictures with white a background and black lettering had an antique touch, adding to the charm of the occasion. Everyone was then welcomed into the main reception hall, where they found their tables and prepared to enjoy the celebratory festivities.

Roxann and Zach had an unconventional entrance planned, and I happily accommodated their wishes. They entered the room first, accompanied by the uplifting melody of "Higher Love" by Whitney Houston and Kygo. I then had the pleasure of formally introducing the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Weygandt, to the excited applause of their loved ones. Instead of proceeding directly to their first dance, they wanted the bridal party to join them on the dance floor, creating a jubilant celebration among friends. The bridesmaids, Alexa, Emily, Ashley, Erica, Kerry, and Alyson (MOH), entered the room to the empowering beats of "Diva" by Beyoncé. Following their lead, the groomsmen, Hector, Ben, Robert, Roberto, Michael, Brandon, and Tarik (BM), burst onto the dance floor with infectious energy to the rhythm of "This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan.

As the music subsided, it was time for the enchanting first dance. The chosen song, "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys, resonated with the couple's deep connection. Zach then escorted his mother to the center of the dance floor for their touching mother-son dance, accompanied by the sentimental tune of "Mother" by Sugarland. Breaking with tradition, Roxanne's father had the honor of escorting her for another grand entrance to the reception hall, eliciting a round of applause and admiration from the guests. The father-daughter dance commenced, accompanied by the heartfelt lyrics of "Because You Loved Me" by Céline Dion.

After playing a few more songs to create a comfortable atmosphere, a prayer was offered by Roxanne's father, Mr. Lockrow, as salads were served. Toasts followed, delivered by Roxanne's mother, Donna, the maid of honor, Rachel, and the matron of honor, Alyson, as well as the best man, Tarik. As dinner drew to a close, Roxanne and Zach proceeded to the cake-cutting ceremony, which proceeded smoothly until Roxanne playfully smeared a bit of icing on Zach's face, prompting laughter and lightheartedness.

With the Dancefloor open, the party entered full swing, and everyone reveled in the joyous celebration. A couple of hours remained, and it was time for the bouquet toss, accompanied by the lively tune of "Lay All Your Love on Me" by ABBA. Following this tradition, a chair was placed in the center of the Dancefloor, and to the song "Bartender" by T-Pain, Zach playfully removed the garter from his wife's leg. All the single men were then invited to the Dancefloor for the garter toss, with the song "The Way You Move" by OutKast adding to the excitement. At the last moment, they requested an impromptu guest who had caught the bouquet and the guest that caught the garter to the Dancefloor for he was going to put the gutter on her and although I didn't catch their names amidst the spontaneity, I quickly selected "Bump and Grind" by R. Kelly for their cherished moment. Surprisingly, despite the many changes, everything flowed seamlessly, and the party was an absolute success.

As the night drew to a close, I played the final song of the evening, "Love on Top" by Beyoncé, leaving everyone with a sense of euphoria and happiness. It was an honor to be their DJ, and I extend my heartfelt wishes for years of love, happiness, and success to Roxann and Zach. DJ Jerry O
