On Wednesday June 22nd, 2011 I played for another destination wedding at the world famous Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada / Florida Keys. Jeff and Katie DelGiudice and 50 friends and family members from Michigan celebrated this special day in paradise. Bob Lyons (steel drummer) provided music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. I started at 8:30 PM and went til' 12:30 AM playing a variety of tunes from the 60's, 70's and 80's including a lot of good ole sing along country tunes! I introduced the bridal party to "Morning Dance" by Spyro Gyra and I played "The Victors" by University of Michigan Band for Katie and Jeff to bring some home town flair to the Keys. After dinner and toasts I invited everyone to the beach for the first dance "I Won't let Go" by Rascal Flatts and the surprise fireworks show which had everyone oooing and ahhing as Katie & Jeff danced to this special song. Then we continued the celebration with Katie dancing with her father to "Daddy's Little Girl" by Al Martino and Jeff danced with his mother to "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. The playlist was filled with classics like Shout, Sugar Pie Honey, Lets Get It On, You Shook Me All Night Long, Don't Stop Believing, Old Time Rock N Roll, Lets Stay Together, Brown Eyed Girl, Livin' On A Prayer, and Two Tickets To Paradise. I also played country favorites like Family Tradition, Toes In The Water, Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off, My Best Friend, I Love This Bar, 5 O'Clock Somewhere, No Shoes No Shirt, All Summer Long, Good Stuff, When The Sun Goes Down, and All My Rowdy Friends. This was a group of down to earth good people from the midwest! For the cake cutting I dialed up "Love & Marriage" by Frank Sinatra and "When I'm 64" by The Beatles. I ended the evening with "Louie Louie" by The Kingsmen and the last song was "Goodnight Sweetheart" by The Spaniels. Everyone got in a circle on the dance floor and serenaded the newly weds who were off to Key West for the rest of their stay in paradise! Thank you Katie & Jeff and everyone from Michigan, I had just as much fun as all of you did! DJ/MC Eddie B!
