On Sunday July 17th, 2011 I played for another destination wedding at the Coconut Cove Resort in Islamorada the Florida keys. Jessica and Jason Lash said their vows on the beach with 65 friends and family members looking on. Bob Lyons provided steel drum music for the ceremony and cocktail reception. I took over by introducing the newlyweds and after dinner Jessica and Jason danced their First Dance on the beach (with fireworks overhead), to "Lucky" by Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat. Later Jessica danced with her father to "Way You Look Tonight" by Frank Sinatra, and Jason danced with his mother to "Have I Told You Lately" by Rod Stewart. For the cake cutting it was "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor. The playlist was mostly Country tunes from todays artists with some Top 40 songs mixed in. This really wasn't a dancing crowd, they were more into being in the Keys and enjoying the atmosphere and the laid back attitude that goes with being in paradise. The final song was "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles. From there most of the guests still present wound up in the swimming pool at 1AM.
