Wedding Reception at the Delray Beach Golf Club

On 9/22/2012 Russell and Anna Maria Roache celebrated their wedding in grand fashion at the Delray Beach Golf Club.  All 160 guests were treated to drinks and appetizers as they arrived for the cocktail hour.  The tropical music played along as Russell and Anna Maria mingled with their guests and enjoyed the cocktail hour also.  As all of the guests were directed into the grand ballroom, I lined up the 15 member bridal party.  The music chosen for the bridal party entrance was What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction and Can't Get Enough of Your Love Baby by Barry White for the bride and groom.  As you can imagine it was very loud as Russell and Anna Maria entered the room and went right to the dance floor for their first dance.  Russell and Anna Maria started the first dance with My Baby You by Marc Anthony then went into Stand By Me by Prince Royce.  It was cool watching Russell (who is of Jamaican descent) dancing bachata!!!  Anna Maria danced with her grandfather and her Uncle Frankie to Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle then Russell danced with his mom to I Hope You Dance by LeeAnn Womack.  The toasts were given by Anna Maria's mom, Uncle Frankie and Russell's mom and dad.  Russell's dad also gave a blessing before the meal.  The first of three courses was being served as I played a mix of reggae classics, smooth jazz and latin classics.  Anna Maria's family is from Nicaragua so as the evening progressed the latin and the reggae were the hot genres.  Anna Maria and Russell did provide me with a small song list that included bachata, merengue and reggaeton.  I was asked to take care of the rest of the music for the evening and after the main course the party was on.  The dance floor was packed immediately!!!  The highlight of the evening was watching the Jamaican folks dancing to the latin music and the latins dancing reggae.....priceless.  Also doing the Wobble with Russell and Anna Maria leading the way!! We did the cake cutting and the garter/bouquet toss a little while later along with the anniversary dance.  Everyone danced until the last song which was New York, New York by Frank Sinatra.  Congrats to Russell and Anna Maria Roache on their matrimony and a special thanks to the Roache and Castillo families especially Russell Sr. for showing much love.....RESPECT!!!!   The Del Ray Beach C.C. is a great venue and the management and staff do an unbelievable job making the bride and groom feel special on their big day. DJ Ray
