Wedding Reception at the Doubletree Ocean Point Resort & Spa

On 11/23/13 Luis & Lorena Silvestre had their destination wedding reception at the Doubletree Ocean Point Resort in Sunny Isles, North Miami. Cocktail hour took place in the lobby at the bar/lounge area as I played a mix of Island & Tango music. The main ballroom opened up for the guests to be seated as I introduced the couple."The Power Of Love" by Huey Lewis was the choice for the introduction. They went into their first dance to "Blue Danube Waltz" by Mantovani. After a 1:30 min of dancing alone, I had the male guests waltz with Lorena and the females waltz with Luis for the rest of the song and so on.The couple gave a short toast then dinner was served as I played a mix of Ratpack and Spanish guitar music. After dinner I turned on our LED dance floor lights and started the party with Classic 80's dance/pop and rock with a mix of Top 40 hits.The dancing stopped for the cutting of the cake to "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" by Elvis....After the bouquet toss took place for a lucky lady to "Single Ladies" by Beyonce. Then a traditional garter removal from Venezuela took place after. The bride had 8 garters on her leg as the groom called out a list of couples to the dance floor one at a time.With Lorena's leg on a chair,Luis removed a garter then called a name, then the couple did the same as the male put it on.The couple wanted a special "Hora Loca" dance as I passed out props for all. Jamming the dance floor to the sounds of Venezuela & Brazilian music.
