Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding Blog.
On Sunday November 11th, I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Stephanie and George on their wedding day. It was held at the Majestic Flagler Museum in West Palm Beach. This location is breathtaking! What an awesome venue. It was once the home of 20th century tycoon Henry Flagler. A historical monument to days gone by.
As the guests arrived into the foyer, I played some Rat Pack tunes. The Christmas tree on display was magnificent and made a great backdrop for photos, etc. After that, I invited everyone into the Grand Pavillion.....and GRAND IT WAS! There was an actual train car in the room! As the guests entered, I played some funky instrumental tunes to set a fun, playful mood.
After the guests were settled in, I invited the bridal party to enter. I played "A Good Night Night" by John Legend. This was a traditional Greek Wedding Reception and the bridal party was HUGE! Over 43 people were introduced! After that, George and Stephanie made their grand entrance. It went over great! I then asked them to dance their first song..."Die With You" by Beyonce'. Then, Stephanie danced with her Dad. They requested "My Girl" by The Temptations. Now it was George's turn. He chose "Like Jesus Does" by Eric Church. I Then asked Father Andrew to do the traditional blessing of the meal.
The first course was served and dinner commenced. I kept it light and fun, playing requests like The Way You Look tonight, Easy and Sara Smile.
In between courses, I asked the couples to dance a song or two. I then invited everyone back for main course. That is when I also asked the Best Man, Mike, and Maid Of Honor, Christina to say a few words and toast the newlyweds. Soon after that I invited Stephanie and George to cut the cake.
Once we finished that I turned the party over to the Greek Band. They got all of the guests up for the traditional Greek Dances! Truly a wonderful Old World experience! At the end of their set, they turned it back over to me. I started my set with "Uptown Funk" and didn't look back! The dance floor was packed! Soon the band started again, and they continued for the rest of the evening!
It was a great event!
