Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with this weeks installment of the Wedding Blog.
On Saturday 12/09 I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Sara and Nick on their wedding day. It was held at the Majestic Flagler Museum in West Palm Beach. This location is breathtaking! What an awesome venue. It was once the home of 20th century tycoon Henry Flagler. A historical monument to days gone by.
As the guests arrived into the foyer, I played some Rat Pack tunes. The Christmas tree on display was magnificent and made a great backdrop for photos, etc. After that, I invited everyone into the grand salon.....and GRAND IT WAS! The guests were treated to elegant floral arrangements and amber LED up lighting, provided by Eddie B & Company. It really set a wonderful mood.
After the guests were settled in, I invited the bridal party to enter. I played "I Wanna Know" by Alesso. After that, Sara and Nick made their grand entrance. I used "Bring Em Out" by T.I. It went over great! I then asked them to dance their first song..."Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You" by Frankie Valli. Then, Sara danced with her Dad. They requested "Sweet Child Of Mine by GNR. Now it was Nick's turn. He chose "Have I Told You Lately" by Rod Stewart.
The first course was served and dinner commenced. I kept it light and fun, playing requests like Drops of Jupiter, The Way You Look tonight, and Sara Smile.
In between courses, I asked the couples to dance a song or two. I then invited everyone back for main course. That is when I also asked the Best Man, Mike, and Maid Of Honor, Lauren to say a few words and toast the newlyweds. I also invited all of Sara's sorority sisters to sing a special song to the bride.
Once the main course was finished, I picked up the pace. I played all requested songs. Sara and Nick were very specific on the music they wanted and I aimed to please! And to be honest it went over great! They really knew the musical tastes of their guests. I played a lot of 70's, 80's 90's and new music. It really a nice mix of songs for everyone to enjoy. In fact the dance floor was busy all evening! Towards the end of the night, Sara threw the bouquet and the cake was cut. I played "Run the World" by Beyonce' and "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Haley Reinhart. We then picked up the pace again and continued to dance the rest of the night. It was a great event!
