Mariela and Phuoc Luong celebrated their wedding at the famous 4
Season Hotel and Resort in Miami, FL on 6/21/2014. The festivities began with a beautiful indoor ceremony and cocktail hour. The music provided for this time was by a 3 piece string orchestra. We were hired for the 4 hour reception in the main ballroom. So while the approximate 95 guests enjoyed drinks and appetizers, I decorated the ballroom with 24 lavender colored, LED, wireless up-lights and dance floor lights all provided by Eddie B & Company. This is the 5th Vietnamese wedding I have worked in the last 3 years so there were lots of familiar faces in the crowd. As I lined up the 24 member bridal party all of the guests entered the ballroom and prepared for the grand entrance. Mariela chose White Stripes by The Seven Nation Army for the bridal party entrance and All Of My by John Legend (Tiesto remix) for her and Phuoc's entrance. The first dance was to All Of Me by John Legend (original version) then Mariela danced with her 3 brothers to De Nina A Mujer by Julio Iglesias and Phuoc danced with his mom to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. The toasts were given by Delfina (maid of honor), Matthew (best man), Mariela's 3 brothers and Phuoc's brother. Johanna (matron of honor) gave the prayer before the meal then everyone settled in for an 8 course meal (yes I said it 8 course meal). Mariela did provide me with a play list that consisted on top 40, salsa, merengue, bachata, disco, and 80's hits. I gave everyone a chance to dance a bit between course and then the dance floor really opened up after the 8th course. The last hour was the craziest!!. Mariela (who is a wedding planner herself) hired a group to perform "La Hora Loca" with props, instruments and all the bells and whistles. During all this fun we did take the time to have the cake cutting, the garter/bouquet toss as well as an anniversary dance. The last songs for the evening were Last Dance by Donna Summer and Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble. Congrats to Mariela, Phuoc and the entire Maldonado, Alvarado and Luong families. And thanks for making me feel like part of your families!!
