Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg is at it again with another installment of the Wedding Blog.
This edition brings us to the Grateful Palate in Ft. Lauderdale. A wonderful venue overlooking the intracoastal waterway.
The guests were gathered outside for cocktail hour. It was a nice evening, not too hot and not too breezy.
Afterwards, I invited the guests to enter. the banquet hall. I was asked to play some special songs for all of the guests. Brandon and Wendy were specific on this, so I obliged!
Vance Joy, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Maroon5 and Ed Sheeran are just a few that were requested.
Once everyone was settled in, Brandon took the mic and proceeded to welcome everyone to the party. He was very appreciative of the guests who traveled from far away and wanted to make sure to tell everyone to get on the dance floor and party!
Dinner was then served, I kept the same theme of music.
After dinner, I inivited Wendy and Brandon to dance with their parents. They chose "A Pirate Looks at Forty" by Jimmy Buffet. I then invited Wendy and Brandon to dance their first dance together... It was "Ho-Hey" by The Lumineers. About half way through, I invited the rest of the guests up and we started the party from there.
This was a young crowd! Most of the guests were friends of the bride and groom, so I was asked to play a lot of current music and Top 40 dance tunes. Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Pitbull and the like were popular favorites. I even played some old time Rock and Roll and some Journey to balance it out... It worked great! The dance floor was packed all evening.
Around 10 PM, I invited Brandon and Wendy to the cake table for the cake cutting. It was short, and sweet (of course)! We then went back to dancing for the rest of the evening!
It was a great time....
I also want to give a shout out to Jerry O, who manned the Mirror ME photo booth (provided by Eddie B & Company). He did a great job!
Congrats and all the best to Wendy and Brandon...DJ/MC Gregg
