Good Day Bloggers
DJ Gregg here with the weekly installment of the Wedding Blog!
This edition brings us to the nuptials of Priscilla and Jim. The wedding reception was held at the Grateful Palate in Ft. Lauderdale. This used to be the old Bootleggers, next to Shooters on the intracoastal. They did a wonderful job remodeling it. It is gorgeous!
I have to start by saying that this was one of the most beautiful and elegant weddings that I have been a part of in a long time. From the flowers to the cake, and everything in between. Nothings was spared. Everything was top shelf!
For cocktail hour they hired Brian Henry, our steel drummer play. He is excellent!
Towards the end of cocktail hour, the bride and groom arrived. I was instructed to announce that they were here and then Brian started the steel drum music again.
They had a great time mingling with all of their family and friends.
We then sat everyone down for dinner. I was asked to play some standards and light vocal music. It really set a nice mood.
During the soup, they had a special visit from "THE STIG". I found out that Jim is a car buff and owns some very special automobiles. in fact, he is a car collector. Anyway, "THE STIG" is a character from his favorite automobile TV show.
He came out, did a little diddy and then left.
After that I invited the Best man and some special friends to say the toasts and speeches. Lots of nice words.
After dinner we cut the cake. They asked to keep it low key, so I did not make a big deal about. it.
After they fed each other, I invited Jim and Priscilla to the dance floor for the first dance. "At Last" by Etta James was chosen. They had a choreographed dance for this song. By the looks of it, you can tell that they practiced a lot! It was great. After that, I invited the rest of the guests up and we danced the night away.
I played music from all genres, but the style that hit the most was Motown, Dance Music, and Latin hits.
It was a really great evening and I was glad to be a part of it. DJ/MC Gregg Pellito
