Good Day Bloggers!
DJ Gregg here with another installment for the wedding Blog. This episode finds us at the Hillcrest Country Club in Hollywood.
Phil and Liz were married on Saturday 3/29/14. The ceremony was held on the green and the cocktails were served in the piano room.
After the cocktail hour, I played some upbeat "South Beach" style music to get the juices flowing. The guests knew they were in for a party.
The room was beautifully decorated and accented in Amber colored uplights provided by Eddie B & Company
We also provided one of our "Strike A Pose" photo booths. Our attendant Jerry was busy all night!
After I lined up the bridal party, I introduced them...one by one they came in. I used the Black Eyed Peas "I ggotta Feeling". I then introduced Phil and Liz with the "Jock Jams" intro song...."LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!"
The room erupted in applause. It was very hype.
I instructed the bride and groom to enter the dance floor for the first dance of the evening. They had chosen "The Luckiest" by Ben Fold. It was a great song. I then invited the bridal party to dance to "Wonderwall" by Oasis. We then proceeded to do the celebration "HORA". It was great to see them being lifted in the chairs. It went over great!
I then asked the Maid of Honor and Best Man (Marissa and Rory) to do the toasts. After that, Liz's dad said a few words. He talked about how grateful he was that he is close to his daughter and that he loves her deeply. He also spoke about Phil and what a great guy he is. It was very touching.
After that they started the dinner service.
I kept the music light, Rat Pack, some light vocal, and slow dance music.
After dinner I asked Liz to escort her dad to the dance floor for the Father / Daughter dance. They chose "The Way You Look Tonight" by Sinatra. I then asked Phil to invite his mom out for the Mother/Son dance. They chose"You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins. I immediately played some dance music and we started to rock the house.
It was great to see everybody...and I mean everybody on the dance floor at one time or another. Sometimes there are guests that never dance, no matter what type of music you put on, but that was not the case here. The party was very fun!
Towards the end of the night, I presented the cake cutting. "Crash Into Me" was requested. They smashed each other with the cake!!! (A perfect choice for music....I guess).
We then did the garter and bouquet toss. Very fun!
After this everyone danced for the rest of the evening.
I played music from every genre and style. Lots of top 40. disco, 80's and 90's.
It was a great party!
