Cristen and Josh Kelso celebrated their wedding at the Ft. Lauderdale Beach Hilton in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 7/15/2017. The ceremony took place at a nearby church then all of the guests were invited to the Hilton for the cocktail hour and reception. I played a mix of tropical tunes at the cocktail hour while everyone mingled and enjoyed drinks and appetizers. I also took the time to decorate the ballroom with 24 amber colored, LED, wireless up-lights and dance floor lights all provided by Eddie B & Company. As the guests entered the ballroom I lined up the 26 member bridal party for the grand entrance. Cristen chose the Golden Girls theme song for both grandmas intro, You Look Good by Lady Antebellum for her parents intro, You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall and Oats for Josh's parents intro, Bring 'Em Out by T.I. for the bridal party intro and Crazy In Love by Beyonce for her and Josh's intro. The first dance was to Die A Happy Man by Thomas Rhett then Cristen danced with her dad to I'll Always Be Your Man by Zac Brown Band and Josh danced with his mom to Simple Man by Rhett Walker. All of the guests found their seats and prepared for the toasts and a 3 course meal. The toasts were given by Caleb (best man) and Torrie and Brittany (co-maid of honors) and the reception was underway. Cristen did provide me with a short play list and left it up to me for the rest. I played a mix of top 40, 90s dance hits, country and hip-hop. I love it when the guests really enjoy the mix of genres I play and especially when the bride and groom rarely leave the dance floor. There was no garter/bouquet toss by the happy couple did have a cake cutting ceremony. The last song for the evening was Closing Time by Semisonic and that was how this amazing wedding ended. Congrats to Cristen, Josh and the entire Kelso and Smith families.
Special thanks to the staff at the Hilton for always putting a smile on the brides face!!
