On Saturday October 15th, 2011 I played for Rebecca and James Santiago and 104 family members and friends at the Hilton Hotel in Key Largo. Although mother nature didn't co-operate, this group had one great celebration to remember. The ceremony was held indoors and steel drum music was provided by a local artist. I took over with the cocktail hour and it was pure Reggae! I introduced the bridal party to White Wedding (the theme of the party was tropical and the dress was white), then I brought the newlyweds into the room with Party Rock Anthem. The mood was festive and loud to say the least. After things calmed down, Rebecca and James danced to Over The Rainbow by Israel K. The room was decorated in ocean blues and greens and the center pieces (made by Rebecca's father Jim), were breath taking. There was also a caricature artist and a photo montage of the newlyweds that played the entire evening. After dinner I cranked it up and rocked the dance floor for 3 hours solid, we even went another hour overtime! Rebecca danced with her father to a Jimmy Buffet classic "Little Miss Magic" and James danced with his mother to "The First Lady In My Life" by Paul Todd. The cake was cut to "Grow Old With Me" by Adam Sandler. As far as the music format I played everything and 80% was from the bride and grooms playlist. I covered the 60's right to the latest Top 40 club music. The final song was "I Had The Time Of My Life" and you couldn't find a song more fitting for this couple and their guests. I also want to mention how involved Jim (F.O.B) was in planning this party. He took care of every detail for his daughter and her husband, and was a pleasure to work with....Thanx Jim for all of your help! Finally, hats off to Charlene Lopez and her staff at the Hilton Hotel, five star all the way! I love those Keys weddings!!!!!.....DJ/MC Eddie B!
