On 11/25/2011 Carlos and Colleen Fernandez celebrated their wedding at the Hyatt Pier 66 in Ft. Lauderdale FL with their closest friends and family. The event began with an outdoor pool side cocktail hour where I played a mix of tropical tunes for the 120 guests. As they enjoyed drinks and appetizers Carlos and Colleen posed for a few pictures then joined their guests. As the time for the grand entrance grew near everyone was directed to the elevators to come up to the Pier Top to continue the celebration. The view as always from the Pier Top is priceless. So I couldn't help but to notice the look on the guests face as they entered the room. As the guests were getting comfortable, I lined up the bridal party and the grand entrance began. Carlos and Colleen chose We No Speak Americano by Yolanda Be Cool and Dcup as the entrance song for everyone. Colleen also suggested that her mom Felicity enter together with Carlos' mom and dad Lucy and Pedro. That was a very nice gesture and it showed unity for both families. Carlos and Colleen chose Unforgettable by Nat and Natalie Cole as their first dance and asked that the bridal party join them half way through the song. There were no parents dances so we went right into the toast which was given by the maid of honor and the best man. After the toasts Colleen's mom and Carlos' mom and dad made 3 wonderful speeches thanking everyone for being part of their families very special day. Colleen and Carlos put together a list of their favorite songs that consisted of top 40, 70's, 80's, country and latin. Carlos is of Cuban descent so there were plenty of latins who were ready to dance. As you can imagine the dance floor filled up after the main course. Everyone was working off those calories from the delicious meal they had just eaten. During the evening Carlos requested I Will Always Love You by Taylor Dayne as a special song for his mom and dad and also asked me to have all of the couples join them on the dance floor. All of the guests watched as Carlos and Colleen cut their beautiful wedding cake and performed the bouquet toss only. It was all around a fabulous wedding and the last song of the evening was Save The Last Dance for Me by Micheal Buble. I want to thank the Fernandez and Horan family for choosing me as the DJ/entertainer for their huge day!! I know they had and awesome time and so did I. To the staff and management at Pier 66, thank you for going above and beyond AGAIN!!!!
