Wedding Reception at the International Polo Club
Saturday evening November 7 at the famous International Polo Club is where the reception was help with 135 of family and friends. This was a dream wedding as a doctor marries a professional baseball player. As the large bridal party was introduced they danced into a classic from Marky Mark, Good Vibrations. Rafi and Heather danced into Michael Bubles, Feeling Good. Once in the main room they chose Give into Me as there first dance by Garret and Leighton. Then a second dance the Ed Sheerhans, Thinking Out Loud. The toasts from the MOH and BM and then the Parents was made as the courses were then served.
For the first course I was asked to play some upbeat music such as MJ, Kygo, Bruno and some top 40 music.
Once dinner was served i was then asked to play music from the swing era such as Frank, Dean, Nat and Natalie Cole, Louis Armstrong and then some George Benson and the Bee Gees…Classic.
Once dinner was over the Heather danced with her dad to The Way You Look Tonight by Frankie as she and her dad cried through the whole song. Rafael then spoke about his mom as she became very ill the night prior to the wedding and then danced with his sister to The Man You've Become by Molly Pasutti. When the song concluded I asked all the guests to give a standing ovation for the mother of the groom and the family. Rafael thanked me over and over again for doing that and was very professional of me to do it..
The bride and groom then proceeded to cut the cake to You and Me by The Dave Mathews Band.
The party then really got going for the remaining three hours as music and line dances rocked the young crowd of professionals that drank and danced all night. They made requests and I played them and they and the newlyweds were on the floor all night.
To give them a break we did the bouquet toss to Single ladies and the garter to sexy and I know it and then out back on the garter to My Pony, they all cheered and laughed as the couple played very well to putting it on.
The party rocked for the remainder of the evening as Rafael and Heather along with the parents thanked me for helping them out through the families difficult time and making it an incredible day for them.
