Wedding Reception at the Josephine Opera Center

Alberto and Karen Capurro celebrated their wedding reception at the Josephine Opera Center in Ft. Lauderdale FL on May 26, 2012 with 70 close friends and family members.  There was a short cocktail hour before Alberto, Karen and the bridal party showed up and I prepared them for the grand entrance.  Karen and Alberto chose Everything Tonight by Pitbull for the bridal party and Hasta Que Salga El Sol by Don Omar for their entrance.  Karen did not get to see the room before hand so she was very impressed when she got to see the up-lights (provided by Eddie B & Co.) for the first time.  She chose the color lavender which worked out perfectly.  They went right into the first dance which was a dance mix that was put together by Karen's cousin.  It was a 6 minute choreographed routine that included the 3 bridesmaids and the 2 maid of honors in the dance.  Everyone got a real kick out of it and cheered them on as they danced.  Karen then danced with her dad to What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong and Alberto danced with his mom to El Menu by El Gran Combo.  Both bridesmaids (Celia and Georgia) made 2 great speeches then Karen's dad gave the prayer before the meal.  The dinner was buffet style along with a mix of jazz, oldies and some latin classics.  Karen and Alberto are both of Peruvian descent.  They did not provide me with a list of songs because Karen did see me at her good friends wedding and knew that I would be able to handle her group.  After dinner the dance floor opened up for dancing and partying.  They danced to a variety of music including top 40, hip-hop, reggae, reggaeton, bachata, salsa, merengue, cumbia and Alberto's favorite band Group 5.  The highlight of the evening was La Hora Loca (The Crazy Hour).  Alberto and Karen supplied all of the guests with whistles, hats, masks, glow sticks and confetti poppers as they danced during La Hora Loca.  After the cake cutting and the garter/bouquet toss the dancing continued to the end.  The last songs for the evening were Last Dance by Donna Summer and I Just Can't Stop Loving You (Spanish Version) by Michael Jackson.  All of the guests were directed to the front of the building with sparklers to give Alberto and Karen a big send off as they drove off  into the sunset in a Maserati!!  Nice touch to end the evening.  Special thanks and congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Alberto and Karen Capurro and to the entire Quiroz family.  DJ Ray
