I DJed Kendren and Ryan's Wedding at the Key Largo Lighthouse on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 on the "Hidden Beach" side of the venue. The weather was beautiful. Kendren and Ryan and many of the guests are from Washington State so they were happy to be out of the cold and down in the beautiful Florida Keys. As the guests arrived I played my tropical cocktail playlist including Maxi Priest - Wild World, Underneath it All by Gwen Stefani, and La Isla Bonita by Taladego.
For the ceremony the bridal party walked down the path to Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles. Then the best man Christian walked down the path as the "Flower Man" to "I'm Coming Out" by Diana Ross. He did a dance and spread flower pedals and the guests loved it! Next, Kendren walked down the path escorted by her son Harper to the song "I Am Yours" by Andy Grammer. After a lovely ceremony the officiant pronounced Kendren and Ryan Husband and Wife! I played "Best Day of my Life" by American Authors. For cocktail hour I played a mix of house, reggae and wedding music. Sublime Reggae Kings version of Walking on Sunshine, to Kaskade - Love Like That as Ryan told me he is a huge Kaskade fan. I made sure to set a warm, fun atmosphere for the guests. At 6pm everyone gathered under the tent and I introduced for the first time "Mr. and Mrs. Yazell!" to the song "You are My Best Friend" by Queen. Ryan and Kendren welcomed their guests. After that best man Christian, Maid of Honor Rachel, Ryan's mother Barbara and Kendren's mother Laura each gave a toast. After that cake was served and the espresso bar opened. For their first dance Ryan and Kendren danced to "The Way I Love You" by Michael Leah while the guests circled around them with sparklers. This was followed by Kendren and Clete dancing to Daughters by John Mayer and Ryan dancing with his mother Barbara to the song My Wish by Rascal Flatts. After that the guests danced the night away to music from Beach Boys - Kokomo, to Goodies by Dillon Francis, to the Cupid Shuffle and the Cha Cha Slide to Danza Kuduro by Don Omar. I was happy to take requests straight up until 10pm and ended the night with "Move for Me" by Kaskade and Deadmau5. Ryan and Kendren's wedding was one of those where I think I had just as much fun as the guests! The newlyweds are headed to the Bahamas and I wish them all the best!
