Wedding Reception at the Key Largo Lighthouse
It was a pleasure DJing Nick and Michelle's wedding at Key Largo Lighthouse on Sunday, October 8, 2023. There were about 60 people who came from the New England area to celebrate Michelle and Nick's special day in Key Largo. The weather could not have been better. Of course it was warm but there was a nice breeze and only partly cloudy skies. Michelle and Nick had a beautiful backdrop for their ceremony. The bridal party walked down the path to the Midnight String Quartet version of Blink 182's "First Date". Next Michelle and her father walked down the path to the violin version of "Can't Help Falling in Love". After a beautiful ceremony, Michelle and Nick said "I do", kissed and I played Guns N Roses - "Sweet Child O Mine". During cocktail hour I played tropical music from steel drum player Bob Lyons as well as jams from Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffett to go along with the tropical atmosphere while people enjoyed rum runners at the bar. I also mixed in some Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran.
For the bridal party's introduction I played Black Eyed Peas - "I Gotta Feeling" as I introduced the parents, bridesmaids and groomsmen. I mixed it in to Calvin Harris - Feel So Close as I introduced for the first time "Mr and Mrs Andreozzi!" The introductions were beautiful. Next Nick and Michelle danced to Thank God by Kane Brown, Michelle danced with her father Lionel to "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart and Nick danced with his mother to Tim McGraw - "Humble and Kind".
During dinner I played music from Frank Sinatra, Lionel Ritchie, Stevie Wonder, and Etta James. The best man Cliff and maid of honor Di gave toasts and Nick thanked the guests for coming. For the cake cutting I played Sugar, Sugar by the Archies and then it was time to dance!
I make sure to get people up and dancing or die trying! With these wonderful guests it was not too hard! We started with the Cupid Shuffle and then transformed into a conga line with Michelle at the lead! Through the night I took requests and played songs like Play Hard by David Guetta, Smack that by Akon, Hotel Room Service by Pitbull, the Wobble, the Git Up, Cotton Eye Joe, Darude - Sandstorm, David Guetta - Don't Hurt Me, Pursuit of Happiness by Kid Cudi and anything and everything that kept the party alive! I also played some slow songs like HOLY by Florida Georgia Line and Don't Wanna Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. I played a freestyle set with music from Suzy B and Rockell and played a latin set with music from Farruko and Don Omar. I also got some requests for some great songs I had not played before! We ended the night with Black Eyed Peas - Dirty Bit and Backstreet Boys - I Want it That Way. I am so happy that I got to be part of Michelle and Nick's special day and I wish them the best life together!
