Sunday morning, December 21st, 2014 at the Marriott Harbor Beach is where the reception was held for Ira and Paula Aronowitz. After the ceremony on the beach, the bridal party among with Ira and Paula
immediately entered the room to We are Family and then Celebration for the newlyweds. The first dance was to If Your Not The One by Daniel Bedingfield as they danced for a few minutes alone and then I proceeded to invite all the couples to join them. Paula then danced with her Dad To Daddys Little Girl as everyone watched and teared as she and her dad are very close. Then Ira danced with his mom to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion. An oldie but a very good song as they hugged and kissed, another very close family.
The Father of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom then proceeded to do the blessings over the bread and wine and the food stations were opened. I played many of the songs requested by the bride for lunch such as, Styx, Billy Joel, Bee Gees, Buble, Carole King, Rod Stewart and the Carpenters as you can see it was a very diverse list of song requests.
Following brunch, The best Man, Maid of Honor and many of the guests wanted to toast and say a few words about Ira and Paula. Then we proceed to do the Hora, as many of the guests got up and joined in and followed very well as I directed them. That was a good Hora as they sang all the songs with me...
Following all the formalities and the Hora, I played a lot of the Big Bands, 70's and many line dances. Cupid Shuffle, Conga, Macarena, Electric Slide as this was and older crowd and they enjoyed participating in the line dances.
As the party came to a close I played as requested Goodnight Sweetheart as both Ira and Paula approached me and mentioned they had a great time and were surprised at the amount of people who danced.
Congrats and Happy Holidays and New Year from Marc Evans.
