On Sunday, September 6th I was in Fort Lauderdale at The Marriott Harbor Beach for the wedding celebration of Melanie and Ryan. The ceremony took place in the main ballroom that was beautifully partitioned with elegant white drapes. The bride walked down the aisle with her mother and father to join Ryan under the chuppah to I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing by Boyce Avenue. After the ceremony, the couple broke a traditional glass and all their guests were celebrating, singing This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole. The cocktail hour was held outside on the patio and inside the restaurant. The reception took place in the Ocean Ballroom, decorated with 20 wireless LED up lights set to amber, a gobo monogram with the couple’s names, and a mobile photo booth (provided by Eddie B & Company). When it was time for introductions I invited everyone to stand as we welcomed the newlyweds to I Came here for Love by Sigala . The couple then embraced each other for their first dance to Yours by Russell Dickerson leading into a dazzling lift accompanied by cold sparks in the background (provided by Eddie B & Company). Following the first dance, Melanie danced with her dad to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion followed by Ryan joining his mother on the dance floor to Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. During dinner, I played a mix of 90s R&B and some motown while the guests enjoyed their meal and kicked off the dance floor with a traditional Hora. The rest of the night was a party with a mix of pop, hip hop, country and line dance party favorites for all the guests to enjoy. Once the guests were on the floor they did not want to leave. Thank you Melanie and Ryan for allowing me to be a part of your special day. You were an awesome group and it was an absolute pleasure partying with you and your family. Best of luck to both of you! - DJ ELOW
