Wedding Reception at the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort and Spa

Curtis and Maya Palmore tied the knot on 5/26/2012 at the beautiful Harbor Beach Marriot in Ft. Lauderdale FL.  The ceremony took place outdoors by the patio area overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.  The cocktail hour was also outside and the guests were treated to a live steel drummer provided by Eddie B & Co.  After the cocktail hour everyone was directed into the main ballroom as I lined up the 20 member bridal party for the grand entrance.  Curtis and Maya chose a mix of Beyonce and Jay Z songs for the grand entrance.  I started off with Run This Town then into Bring "Em Out and finished with Crazy in Love.   The guests were loving it!!  Curtis and Maya chose Love of My Life by Brian McKnight for their first dance then Maya danced with her dad to Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross and Curtis danced with his mom to A Song For Mama by Boys II Men.  The maid of honor and best man gave the toasts and Curtis's mom gave the prayer before the meal.  Everyone then sat down for a 2 course meal as Curtis and Maya went around to all the tables to great all of their friends and family.   Curtis provided me with a list of artists that he likes and he let me chose the best songs from those artists.  I played a mix of top 40, funk, soul, R&B, Hip-Hop and disco.  The majority of the guests were from NY(Brooklyn) so it was pretty easy to get them to dance.  We danced the Cha Cha Slide, the Electric Slide and the Cupid Shuffle which had everyone on the dance floor.  There was no garter/bouquet toss but they did cut the cake and added a candy station for the guests to enjoy.  The dancing went on until the end and of course the last song for the evening was New York, New York by Frank Sinatra.  Everyone made a big circle around Curtis and Maya and gave them a huge group hug!!!! What a way to end a perfect day.  Congrats once again to Curtis and Maya Palmore and a special thanks to the Joseph and Thomas families for their hospitality.  Can't forget the great staff at the Harbor Beach Marriot...5 Star service always!! DJ Ray
