Wedding Reception at the Maxwell Room

I had the honor of DJing Mikey and Gina's wedding at the Historic Maxwell Room on March 26, 2022. As the guests arrived I played A Thousand Years by Christina Perri and the violin cover of Can't Help Falling in Love. Cruisin by Huey Lewis and Gwyneth Paltrow has become a staple for pre-ceremony in my sets. Gina walked down the aisle to Cat Power - Sea of Love. After they exchanged their vows the couple walked up the aisle to Route 94 and Jess Glynne - My Love. Mikey and Gina both love house music so they got the best DJ for that style. During cocktail hour I had a second set up outside playing cocktail music and house music while continuing my regular set inside. The transition was seamless. The introductions were absolutely fantastic. All the guests gathered around the dance floor and cheered as the parents and the flower girl and Bride and Groom entered to Juice by LIzzo and You Were Right by Rufus Du Sol respectively. I transitioned to Lane 8 - Loving you for Mikey and Gina's first dance. For the Father Daughter Dance Gina selected Elton John This is Your Song, for the Mother Son Dance it was Rod Stewart Forever Young and for the cake cutting it was Florence and the Machine - You've Got the Love.
