Wedding Reception at the Maxwell Room

Maggie and Joshua Cooper celebrated their wedding at the Historic Maxwell Room in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 10/6/2024.  Approximately 50 close friends and family members arrived to the Maxwell Room and were directed to the ceremony area.  After the happy couple tied the knot, everyone was invited to the cocktail hour for drinks and appetizers.  I played a mix of easy listening tunes while they posed for pictures until it was time for the grand entrance.  Maggie and Josh chose This Will Be by Natalie Cole as the intro song then they danced to My Love Mine All Mine by Mitski.  All of the guests found their seats and prepared for a plated 3 course dinner.  During dinner, Kayla (sister of the bride) gave a toast along with 2 other family members.  Maggie did provide me with a play list that included top 40, alternative dance music and oldies.  Great mix of genres for this fun group of guests.  As the night progressed, Maggie and Josh had a cake cutting ceremony and they also asked me to play more latin and reggaeton favorites.  The closing song for the evening was You Are The Best Thing by Ray Lamontagne so everyone gathered on the dance floor with the happy couple one last time.

Special thanks to the staff at the Maxwell Room for all the years of hard work and dedication.  This was officially the last wedding at this Historic venue.  I'm gonna miss this place.  Cheers!
