Kevin and Katie Bowers celebrated their wedding reception on June 11,2011 at the beautiful Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove, Miami. The event began with an open air cocktail hour in the foyer of the 2nd floor. The guests enjoyed a mix of easy listening and oldies which was requested by Katie. After cocktail hour the guests were directed to the reception ballroom except for the bridal party which I lined up for the grand entrance. Everyone was really excited to see Kevin and Katie for the first time as husband and wife. There were 150 guests and they were all on their feet cheering during the grand entrance. Kevin and Katie requested I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas for the intros. When Kevin and Katie were finally announced the room was as loud as I ever heard it!! Just By Being You by Steel Magnolia was the first dance song and half way though Katie requested that the bridal party join them on the dance floor. After the first dance Katie and her dad (Tom) and Kevin and his mom (Bobbi) danced to Landslide by Fleetwood Mac. Then as a special dance Katie's grandparents and Kevin's grandmother danced to Unforgettable by Nat and Natalie King Cole. The toasts were given by Delani(maid of honor) and Pete (groomsman). The toast were very special and once again very loud applause and cheering from the guests. We still had about 20 minutes to the salads and dinner so I got the dance floor busy with some of Katie's great music requests. Katie provided a list of popular dance, classic rock and oldies that were perfect for her crowd. Through salads and main course I played a mix of classics (Sinatra, Bennet,Buble and Motown) that the guests were singing to as they enjoyed their dinner. After dinner the dance floor again got filled quickly for more fun and dance. The dancing continued then Kevin and Katie cut the cake and did the garter/bouquet toss. I believe that all the guests at one time or another during the evening danced at least one song. And there was a few that danced almost every song. The highlight of the evening was when the dance floor was split up(girls on one side and boys on the other)and we danced to Grease Mega-Mix. That was a sight to see!!! The evening ended with Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Special thanks to the staff at The Mayfair Hotel. They provided excellent service and the brides smile said it all. Congrats Kevin and Katie have a great time on your Honeymoon Cruise to the Eastern Caribbean!!
