Wedding Reception at the Mayfair Hotel / Coconut Grove

Jennifer and Michael Sorensen celebrated their dream wedding at the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove, Miami FL on 2/1/2014.  The ceremony and cocktail hour music was provided by the hotel so they only hired us for the reception.  Approximately 130 guests were in attendance to share the big day with the happy couple.  During the cocktail hour I decorated the ballroom with 24 amber LED, wireless up-lights provided by Eddie B & Company.  As all of the guests entered the ballroom and prepared for the grand entrance, I lined up the 20 member bridal party just outside the doors.  Jennifer chose Don't Stop The Party by Pitbull for the bridal party entrance and Timber by Pitbull and Kesha for her and Michael's intros.  The first dance was to Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts then Jennifer danced with her dad to I Loved Her First by Heartland and Michael danced with his mom to Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion.  The welcoming speeches were given by both dads Mr. Molina and Mr. Sorensen then the first of 3 courses was served.  The maid of honor and best man toasts were given by Maria and Rafael between the salads and main course.  Jennifer and Michael did provide me with a short play list and asked me to take care of the rest.  They saw me at a wedding a year earlier so they basically let me do my thing.  During dinner I played a mix of Rat Pack favorites and after dinner when the dance floor opened up I played a mix of top 40, classic rock, merengue, salsa, reggae, hip-hop, r&b and 80's pop.  I loved the way the crowd would react to almost every song.  The energy was unreal!!!  We did perform the garter/bouquet toss, the cake cutting ceremony and the anniversary dance as the night progressed.  The last hour of the event was called "La Hora Loca".  They passed around funny hats, bells, whistles, maracas and leis as they dance to all the fast pace up-beat music I could throw at them!!  The last song for the evening was Piano Man by Billy Joel.  So as you can imagine they made a circle on the dance floor and sang to the happy couple.  Congrats to Jennifer, Michael and the entire Sorensen and Molina families.  Special thanks to the staff at the Mayfair Hotel for their attention to detail and for making the bride very happy.
