On Saturday, August 11th, 2012 I played for Melissa and Todd Barth and 120 friends and family members at the Old Davie School House. This is a unique venue because of it's historical value and uniqueness to the surrounding area. The evening started with a cocktail reception which took place in what used to be the auditorium. I played a variety of adult contemporary hits from the 70's and 80's for the guests to enjoy. Then the party moved up stairs to the banquet hall and the fun began with an introduction of the bridal party to "I'm Here For The Party" by Gretchen Wilson, and "My Kinda Party" by Jason Aldean for Melissa & Todd. The place was loud and festive and I knew it was going to be a great night! Bless the Broken Road was the first dance, followed by "Just Fishin" by Trace Adkins for the father/daughter dance, and "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts for the groom/mother dance. After a few toasts, a delicious buffet was served by Ultimate Cuisine Caterers, and as always the viddles were awesome! Once I turned up the music, it was party time all the way until I said goodnight! I played a mix of Country, Classic Rock, and Top 40 Dance hits to keep the floor rolling for over two hours. Melissa and Todd cut their cake to "History In The Making" by Darius Rucker and later Todd removed the garter to "Bad Boys" by Inner Circle, while Melissa tossed her bouquet to "This One's For The Girls" by martina McBride. This group loved to line dance so of course I played Wobble Wobble, Cupid Shuffle, Cha Cha Slide, and the Electric Slide, all upon request. For the ending it was "Family Tradition" by good ole Hank Williams Jr. and finally "Red Solo Cup" as everyone rallied around Melissa and Todd one last time. The party then continued at Cowboys! I want to thank Jamie, Ty, & Tim (Ultimate Cusine) and their first class staff for another 5 star performance and their hospitality. DJ/MC Eddie B
