Wedding Reception at the Pelican Grande Beach Resort

Matt and Sharon Bursky celebrated their wedding reception on 10/27/2011 at the Pelican Beach Grande Resort in Ft. Lauderdale.  After many months of extensive planning the day was finally here.  Matt and Sharon are from Ohio and their dream destination wedding became a reality on this day.  As the guests were making their way to the reception area I lined up the bridal party for the grand entrance.  The very charged up bridal party entered to In The Dark by Dev and the bride and groom entered to Give Me Everything Tonight by Pitbull and Ne-Yo.  Matt and Sharon's first dance was Two Step by the Dave Matthews Band.  Half way through the song they requested that the bridal party join then on the dance floor.   There was no parents dances so we went right into the toasts. Best man Ryan, maid of honor Nicole and Sharon's brother Dan had the honors.  Matt and Sharon did not provide me with a song list.  They told me to read the crowd and to use my best judgment.  They did give me a cd which had 4 great Hebrew songs that where used before and after the cake cutting and one for the last songs.  After a nice buffet style dinner the guests enjoyed a mix of music from top 40, oldies, classic rock and motown.  The age group of the guests were from 30-70 so I played a mix so everyone got a chance to dance.  The highlight of the evening was without a doubt performing the Hora.  Matt and Sharon were hoisted way up in the air on the chairs as everyone dance around them.  There was no garter/bouquet toss and the last song for the evening was Save The Last Dance For Me by Michael Buble.  Congrats to the new Mr. and Mrs. Bursky and have a great time on your honeymoon in Hawaii next March!!  Special thanks to the staff at the Pelican Beach Grande.  One of my favorite venues in Ft. Lauderdale.
