Hello Wedding Blogger!
DJ Gregg.....Here Again.....With this weeks installment of the WEDDING BLOG.
On Saturday I had the pleasure of being the DJ for Michael and Kristel on their wedding day. The reception was held at the wonderful PGA National Resort and Spa. It was a very elegant location!
As the guests arrived for the cocktail hour, I played some light vocal and Jazz, per the request of Michael and Kristel. The photographers were busy taking photos of all the guests, enjoying some refreshments and mingling with each other. Soon after that, the main dining room was opened. It was decorated with beautiful AMBER LED UP LIGHTS provided by Eddie B & Company. It really looked great. The theme of the wedding was "Christmas Spirit", so the tables were decorated with trees and trimmings. Very nice. As the guests entered, I played some great instrumental music with a wonderful beat. It was really nice to see everyone bobbing their heads as they found their seats. One the guests were settled in, I lined up the bridal party and proceeded to do the introductions. I was asked to play "Can't Stop the Feeling" by J.T. Then I introduced Michael and Kristel. I was asked to play "Finally Found You" by Enrique Iglesias. It was great! The room erupted with applause.I was then asked to have the Sr. Pastor come up and do a blessing before dinner was served. During dinner, I kept it light, playing love songs, as requested by Kristel.
Once dinner finished, I invited Michael and Kristel up to dance the first song. " It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw was used. I then asked Kristel to dance with her father. They chose " Song For My daughter" by Ray Allaire. Then Michael danced with his mom. "All For You" by DJ Keo was requested. Shortly after that we got the rest of the guests up to dance. I have to say that this was a great group! I was able to play music from all genres including some Chutney! Kristel's family is from Trinidad and this traditional music is great to dance to! I was also able to play the traditional "Hora"! Both Michael and Kristel were lifted in the chairs! It was wonderful. There was even a "Shoe Game" that was MC'd by William, the best man. A lot of fun indeed!
I was able to do the cake cutting as well as the garter and bouquet toss. All of these went over wonderfully. One we got back to dancing, I played music from all genres again. This was a mixed group, so I was able to play a lot of different songs.
All in all, I feel it was a wonderful event and I wish Michael and Kristel a wonderful life together!
