On Saturday August 18th, 2012 I was back in paradise, this time at the Post Card Inn/ Holiday Isle in Islamorada. I had the pleasure of playing for Maureen (Mo) and Jim Huber and 85 family members and friends from the St. Louis Missouri area. The music for the ceremony and cocktail hour was provided by a steel drummer which they contracted on their own. I took over at 7 PM with an introduction of the bridal party to "Morning Dance" by Spyro Gyra and "Toes" for the newlyweds. The first dance was a special mix of the classic "Be My Baby" that was provided to me. It was a very tropical and unique version I had never heard before. After a welcome by the groom Mr. Jim Huber, a delicious buffet was served for which I played a variety of Reggae, Tropical, and retro tunes from the 70's & 80's. After dinner 4 toasts were given by the F.O.B., B.M., M.O.H. and Mr. Dan Huber. Then we got the dance floor going on for the next two and a half hours. I loved this group! They had the right Keys attitude and danced to everything I played. I was not confined to a playlist, thank you Mo & Jim!. Requests were taken and played right away to keep the guests involved. There was no cake cutting ceremony, but an ice cream bar for everyone to enjoy. Mo & Jim also chose not to do the garter/bouquet ceremony, just keep the party going! The final song was "Save The Last Dance For Me" by Michael Buble. The happy couple will be visiting the Swiss Alps on for their honeymoon. DJ/MC Eddie B!
